3M today announced its latest addition of a new class of silicone adhesives designed to be gentler on fragile skin.

The company said that the 2484 3M single-coated medical film tape designed by its engineers has Hi-Tack silicone adhesive on the liner. Minimize the removal of skin cells. This is the second increase in the product line in the past few months.

"Designing devices for people with weaker skin (such as people with chronic diseases or people at the ends of the age range) can be challenging; however, they may be the people who need reliable wearable devices the most," 3M Medical Device Solutions Global Business Director Chad Reed (Chad Reed) said at a press conference. "2484 3M Hi-Tack Silicone Adhesive is gentle even on delicate skin, providing design engineers with an adhesive that can meet the needs of the latest medical device designs and wearers."

The new adhesive is compatible with ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilization and complies with ISO 10993 parts 5 and 10.
