Bangalore: Healthium Medtech Limited ("Healthium Medtech" or "Healthium"), a global medical technology company specializing in surgical, postoperative and chronic care products, today announced the launch of TRUSHIELD™ NXT surgical wound dressings, increasing its portfolio of wound care and Patented products in the field of infection prevention. In addition to wound care, Healthium's current product portfolio focuses on advanced surgical, urological and arthroscopy products, covering 52,000 inventory units.

As of the 2021 fiscal year, Healthium is India's largest independent medical device company and the second largest company in the surgical consumables market. In the field of non-fixed surgical needles, as of March 31, 2021, it is the world's largest manufacturer in terms of production volume and the third largest company in the UK urological collection equipment market. As of fiscal year 2021, Healthium products are used in one-fifth of operations worldwide.

The announcement was made after Healthium acquired CareNow Medical last month. As of July 31, 2021, the company has 21 patents in India, 11 patents in the United States, and 22 and 6 patent applications are pending in India and the United States, respectively. Through the acquisition of CareNow, the company obtained a patent in India, the United States and Europe, and obtained a patent application pending approval in India.

TRUSHIELD™ NXT combines the advantages of a 3D water cell matrix and patented infection prevention technology to provide a complete wound care system that can provide 360-degree wound protection. It provides exudate and moisture management while remaining waterproof.
